Introduction
The University of Malta is an active partner in an EU project entitled Mediterranean Virtual University. This project brings together 11 partner Universities in order to provide high-quality online courses. The project is still in its development phases but a large number of courses have already been developed and are being piloted around Europe and the Mediterranean region.
The Event
The event has two principal objectives. The first is to acquaint the public with the concepts of e-learning and how it solves some of the major problems being faced by small states such as Malta and Gozo. The second objective involves introducing the audience to the Mediterranean Virtual University project and giving a practical tinge by demonstrating courses which have already been developed.
